Welcome to Roaddogs.com

I want to apologize to everyone who has been following us so far. I will be the first one to say we have yet to reach our full potential of what I want this site to be. We are trying to catch up and get into a steady groove with the production of our pictures and videos. It is not easy being on the road and having to do everything. Miss Lynns needs will always come first and so far she has been strugling with this whole Parkinsons thing and helping her takes a lot of time. Keep coming back at least every week so you can keep up with our trip. I understand it is a little dry and it lacks videos (I don't get paid for videos) but it will get better as we find our footing.

We were finally able to get Miss Lynn's mass looked at by a uroligist who ordered more cat scans. He did not seem to think it would be a big deal and it would be treatable worst case scenario. We have an appointment September 13 for the cat scans. That will require us staying close to L.A. for a while longer. In the meantime Click on the image below and check out our minutes of zen. A full minute of video showcasing a beautiful spot as if you are standing there.

Our most recent videos or entries will be posted here and moved to the daily blog when they are no longer the most current.

ABOUT ROADDOGS

So here we are. After talking about and planning for years, we are about to live full time the Roaddog way. I have been put on disability because my physical condition has finally eroded to the point that I can no longer work and Miss Lynn is dealing with some issues that is going to retire her early as well. So now what? We have been building this site over the years without promoting it so when we went to it full time in retirement we wanted to have lots of stuff to show you from day 1. Now here it is time to start putting the dream into action and I am living in severe chronic pain. So much pain it has forced me out of the workforce and severely hampered my life. Since it will be with me for the rest of my life it has brought me to a crossroad.

Do I give up and retire to a recliner to spend this last phase of life watching the Wire for the tenth time and streaming videos? Or do I say damn the torpedoes! Full speed ahead and do my best to continue this site as Imy condition permits?

I am glad to report we have decided to die with memories rather than die with dreams. We are going to give it a try and hit the road on the ultimate road trip. So today I am announcing "THE GREAT GYPSY ADVENTURE" Thats right we have purchased an RV and we are going to head out in late March for a 2 year adventure. It is finally time to start promoting this site so share, like, and subscribe to our videos on youtube and our pictures on instagram. (You can find us under bigbadroaddog) And since I am disabled we will be taking an extra look at how the disabled are accommodated at the places we visit. I might be crazy trying this with the amount of pain I live with. Not to mention the hard road Miss Lynn is traveling. But I figure I can deal with the pain just as easy sitting on the edge of the Grand Canyon as I can sitting in my living room streaming Netflix. And if you think about it, if not now, When?

I am not pretending to be some great writer, (if you explore further you will soon see how accurate that statement is.) I am not here to help you find a cheaper airline flight or hotel room. There are plenty of sites for that. Miss Lynn and I are here to show you the world that we see as we wander through this last phase of life. The creator has provided us a fantastic, bizarre and beautiful world and we want to see and show you as much of it as possible. Now that we have been forced into retirement and have become full time Roaddogs, I will continue to add to the site as I am able.

It is a nice dream. I hope you come along for the journey.

I do not know if I mentioned it but I tried to get a refund from Camping World for the 2 failed tow bars. After reviewing with them they admitted they did not install the tow bar setup correctly, but they don't want to refund the cost of their work. This is so absurd, their work is the root cause of the tow bar failures. As it turns out the height difference between where it connects to the towed vehicle and where it connects to the towing vehicle should be less than 3". They mounted mine with a difference closer to 10". I was trying to make everything easy by asking for a simple refund, they respond by not accepting blame for their shoddy work. Looks like we are headed for court. Stay tuned!

We are continuing our plan for getting caught up with the video end of our site. We just checked in again on the 9th at Thousand Trails Soledad Canyon as noted before we will back in the LA area for the next few weeks for tests and things Miss Lynn needs. We will then be back on the road and we will be spending most of the fall and winter in the south. Lots to see in Arizona. Still working on getting caught up on the videos should be out soon. In the meantime check out the Coastal Quickie video we did a few years ago.

We are continuing our plan for getting caught up with the video end of our site. Miss Lynns balance continues to erode and it is a sad sad thing to live through. To watch the beautiful vibrant person I have shared the last 26 years with slip away is tearing my heart out. Please keep her in your prayers. Miss Lynn has doctor appointments and tests to go through so we will be around LA for a few weeks and then we will be back on the road checking out new things. In the meantime check out our Everything Arizona Adventure we posted a few years ago. Click on the image below to check it out.

When we began our Great Gypsy Adventure I had no idea how many challenges would arise. Miss Lynn has been struggling with her Parkinsons and me with my pain. It would be no different if we had just stayed in LA watching TV so our choice has been good and in spite of the challenges we are having the time of our lives. It is imparative we do this thing now because who knows where our health will be in two years. I know I have a lot to add in order to catch up to where I want to be. We have developed a plan and design for the Great Gypsy Adventure going forth and will have it up and running soon. In the meantime check out our Border to Border adventure done clear back in 2015. I do not know if I mentioned it but we are having more trouble with our tow bar. We had a second one fail and that has caused us to head directly back to L.A. We were heading that way anyways but we were going to take a leisurly stroll down the state however this caused us to come directly here. So here we are, back where we started from the Thousand Trails Soledad canyon RV park. And we will be here we will be for a few weeks. Time enough to solve our towing problems and get this mass Miss Lynn has on her kidney checked out and get us all caught up with fresh new videos.
We are also reformatting some things on the Great Gypsy Adventure to make navigtion a bit easier. While we are waiting for the new changes to be implemented, I would like to suggest you check out our National Parks section. We have a lot of really good materiaal there and it is a part of our site that has the most in it. Click on the image below to check it out.

Because of the problems with the towbars we had to cut what would have been a great look at the Coastal Redwoods. We have published things about them before and one of my favorite pictures is the one of Lynn standing next to the root system of a fallen giant. We will have to get back there real soon.

I know it has been several days again in posting, however trouble has hit us again and we have had the second tow bar for the jeep fail. This time wasn't as bad as the first time and we were able to hobble down the road a ways before it completely failed. Luckily we were able to locate a used one 9 miles away and it was a cheaper version of the ones I had been using so it has caused us to drive very carefully. We were on our way back to L.A. to have the medical tests done on Lynn for her kidney mass that was discovered a few weeks ago in the emergency room. My beautiful wife is dealing enough with the whole Parkinsons thing and she really doesn't need any additional things to worry about so keep her in your prayers. We will be in L.A. for a couple of weeks and I am hoping to get a few videos finished and posted so we can finally get this site off the ground.

Here is a little clip of the Salmon River in the Mount Hood area of Oregon. These forests are peaceful and their beauty goes on for miles with hiking trails galore.
