Neither Lynn or myself are much of a shopper. We tend to spend our money on experiences rather than on things. Although Lynn does usually pick up a refrigerator magnet. One of the things you need to be aware of in the shopping and public areas have a fair amount of crime. That means keep your head up and pay attention to your surroundings. Another thing that you will encounter is all sorts of people wanting to show you around. Most of these guys are just trying to make a couple of bucks tip money but there are a few who are looking for an easy mark. Never let anyone lead you out of public areas. If you stay in the public areas with lots of people you shouldn't have any trouble. |
After a little shopping at 2 different places we were off to Sandals Negril for lunch and 4 hours of time experiencing that resort. The one thing that is immediatly apparent is that unlike he South Coast resort which is spread out and very roomy Negril is much more compact and close quartered. Beautiful place wih some very interesting rooms. We spent the day wandering around and laying on the beach. Great way to spend the day. |
The northern edge of Sandals Negril. The small island in the distance belongs to Hedonism which is the next resort over. |
From there it was off to a great place called Rick's Cafe. They bill it as the greaest sunsets in the world. They also have diving cliffs where the tourists can jump in the water. Quite a place and if you come to Negril you will end up here sooner or later. It is an experience that you will not soon forget. |
As the sun sets and the day comes to a close we head back to our transportation for the ride back to South Coast. It had been raining there so it looked like we went to the right spot for the days activities. It was a structured day so while we were out with the real people of Jamaica our contact was not what I had planned. We had a quiet dinner at Guiseppes and called it a day. |
