Things you need to know about the ferry.

1. Reservations are strongly recomended. You can make them online at:

online reservations

Or you can use the call center that is open 5a.m. to 8:15p.m. 7 days a week at 1-888-808-7977 Make reservations a minimum of 2 hours before sailing. We were lucky enough to make the ferry without reservations but it was off season. The way the whole thing is layed out I imagine it gets crowded during the peak travel season. Be aware!!

2. As you come into the ferry station the highway will take you past it about a mile and then has a turnaround. This is so cars can get in line well out of the way of the immediate loading area. GET THERE EARLY!

3. There is a small restaurant within walking distance of the ferry station so you can get your place in line and then walk over for something to eat if time permits. The ticketing station there at the ferry has both restrooms and vending machines,

While we were waiting we snapped a few shots of the surrounding area. Click on any image to enlarge.

One thing you will notice about the beaches here in Washington. They all have large amounts of driftwood and it can stretch for miles.
